Welcome to

St. George Watercolors

In 1981 as a graduate of George Mason University with a BA in Art I did what most art majors do...get another degree.  So, I attended J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College in Richmond, Virginia to obtain an applications programming degree during the evenings in the 1980s.  It wasn't until 1999 that I began painting again.  As a favor to a friend, I painted her daughter's private high school in Washington, DC. I made prints of the painting and it was such a big hit that I began painting other private schools in the DC area.  Also, by chance, I taught a group of elementary school students how to paint in watercolor for their Art Day.  A teacher was born!  I reasoned that if I could teach children how to paint I could probably teach adults too.  I call it teaching in baby steps and it works.
